Programs to nurture economic development opportunities in Bonita Springs will be discussed by Bonita Springs Mayor Ben Nelson at the Real Estate Investment Society’s (REIS) June 9th luncheon meeting. The Mayor’s presentation will address the City’s infrastructure, downtown redevelopment opportunities, managing growth in the DRGR area, and development incentive programs. Following the presentation, the Mayor will respond to questions of specific interest to the real estate investment and development industry. Ben Nelson served as City Councilman for eight years and is now serving his second term as Mayor. He also serves on the Lee County Metropolitan Planning Organization, the Horizon Council Executive Committee, the Economic Development Council, and is Chairman of the CREW Land & Water Trust. He is a member of the Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce and owns and operates Nelson Marine Construction. The meeting is sponsored by Busey Bank and will begin promptly at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, June 9th in the Osprey Room at Pelican Preserve’s Clubhouse, on Treeline Avenue at Colonial Boulevard, one mile east of I-75 exit 136 in Fort Myers.
