Join REIS on Tuesday, February 10th to hear from Clerk of the Lee County Circuit Court, Kevin Karnes. The program will begin promptly at 11:45 a.m. in the Osprey Room at Pelican Preserve’s Clubhouse, 9802 Pelican Preserve Blvd. Fort Myers, FL 33913. Tickets are $30 form members and $45 for non-members. Reservations are required by Friday, February 6th.
Clerk Kevin Karnes was appointed Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller by Gov. DeSantis in March 2022 and was elected to the position in August 2022 by Lee County voters.
Karnes holds a master’s degree in Legal Studies from American Public University and a bachelor’s degree from Florida Gulf Coast University. Kevin is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified Clerk and Comptroller. He is a long-time veteran of the Clerk’s office and has held a variety of leadership positions leading complex budgets, managing projects and implementing legislative changes.
As Clerk of the Circuit Court, Karnes is responsible for over 1,000 duties designated by the Florida Constitution and Statutes. The Clerk of the Circuit Court’s primary function is to serve as custodian of the court record and also serves as the County Comptroller, County Auditor, County Recorder, and Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners.
